Visit Ouachita

Visiting campus is the best way to get to know and love Ouachita. While we are taking special care to protect the health of our guests and campus community, we are still excited to welcome you for events and personalized campus visits. There are also virtual visit options, so that you can check out Ouachita from wherever you are. Whether on campus or online, we look forward to meeting you!

Want to attend a virtual info session? Admissions counselors will be hosting OuachiTalks on Zoom where they will answer questions to help you on your college search journey, no matter where you are.

 Personal Campus Visit

When you come to campus for a personal visit at Ouachita, you will get a glimpse into life as a student and spend the day learning more about what makes our campus and community unique. A typical visit takes a little over 2 hours and includes a full, 1 hour and 15 minute walking tour of campus and residence halls as well as a meeting with a dean or professor in your field of interest. Your admissions counselor will also spend time explaining the admissions process and answering any questions you might have about financial aid.

We encourage you to schedule your visit at least 1-2 business days in advance and on weekdays when professors are available. Please note that personal campus visits are not available on days when we are hosting other events or on holidays when our university is closed.

Preview days give you a glimpse of life at Ouachita and let you experience some of our most exciting student events! You’ll get an insider’s perspective on campus by hearing directly from the president, admissions counseling staff, faculty and current students. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit in small groups with a dean or faculty member in an academic area that interests you. Then you will receive tickets to a football game or show happening that evening so that you can see our talented Ouachita students in action.

ROAR: Rotations in Ouachita’s Academic Research

Ouachita’s faculty in the Patterson School of Natural Sciences are continually conducting research studies in a variety of areas. In June and July, current students are given the opportunity to apply for a competitive research position to assist the faculty in their projects, honing their skills and setting themselves up to be stellar healthcare applicants. For the first time, we are allowing rising seniors into these labs, as well!

C2M is a unique one-day, on campus gathering of high school students and recent graduates who sense God has called them into some area of vocational ministry or are interested in exploring the diverse areas of ministry available in today’s world. Ministers are also welcome to attend.

Learn more about Ouachita’s rich academic traditions from our president, a faculty member in your area of interest, and some current Honors Program students. After a campus tour and lunch, experience our unique, university-wide display of students’ academic work called Scholars Day, presented by the Carl Goodson Honors Program.
