The Office of Facilities Management at Ouachita Baptist University announces the following staff vacancies:

  • Groundskeeper
  • Building services/custodian

These positions are full-time and eligible for all university benefits, including health, dental and life insurance, retirement, vacation and medical leave.

Job Title: Head Men’s Tennis Coach & Manager of Ward Tennis Center, Ouachita Baptist University

Position summary

Direct all facets of the Ouachita men’s tennis program as well as manage the Kim and Craig Ward Tennis Center.

Expectations not limited to:

  • Direct all operations for Ouachita’s NCAA Division II men’s tennis program. Develop, implement, and maintain team policies and procedures that go along with athletic department guidelines.
  • Under NCAA rules and regulations and in concert with the Ouachita admissions department, establish and maintain recruiting operations to attract high-quality student-athletes.
  • Foster a challenging atmosphere promoting academic and athletic success to allow for maximum personal development.
  • Adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures of the department and the university, as well as the rules and regulations of the NCAA, the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, the Great American Conference, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, and any other authorities that govern the intercollegiate athletics program.
  • Develop, engage, and maintain relationships with alumni and friends of the program.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for day-to-day operations of the Kim and Craig Ward Tennis Center, which includes four indoor courts, six outdoor courts, a pro shop, office spaces for men’s and women’s tennis, and an indoor multi-purpose area that serves as a seating area during indoor matches. Work collaboratively with women’s tennis and other campus departments for scheduling practices, matches, camps, and other events.


  • Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education and at least five years of related experience.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules. Must pass mandated NCAA coaches training and rules test.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills.

Job Title: Recruitment Communications Coordinator
Report to: Assistant to the President for Communications
Employee Type: Full-time with benefits
Location: Arkadelphia, Ark.

Position summary

Creates and coordinates communications and marketing content to support Ouachita’s student recruitment strategy for undergraduate and graduate programs.


  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, marketing or related field
  • At least 1-3 years of experience in communications or marketing
  • Support of Ouachita’s Vision, Mission and Values
  • Preferred experience in college admissions or higher education


  • Serves as the primary liaison between Admissions and the Office of Communications & Marketing
  • Manages recruitment projects for Admissions and other offices as available
  • Assists in managing database of prospective students, including creating and segmenting lists for email and print communications
  • Supports email marketing campaigns
  • Contributes to and aligns marketing content with the university’s mission, vision, values and strategic priorities
  • Maintains university standards to present consistent messaging, voice and visual identity throughout university communications pieces
  • Assists in coordinating video and photo shoots
  • Updates job knowledge by tracking technology advancements and trends, reading professional publications or blogs and participating in educational opportunities and professional organizations

Skills and abilities

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including familiarity with AP style
  • Willingness and ability to learn and work in new platforms related to recruitment
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a team
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously and with a professional demeanor
  • Awareness of current media trends and experience with popular social platforms
  • A sense of design excellence and attention to detail
  • Preferred experience with email marketing, including customization, automation features and audience management functions
  • Preferred experience with platforms similar to OU Campus/Modern Campus CMS, Emma email marketing, Slate CRM, Adobe Creative Suite

Job Title: Resident Director (RD)
Report to: Dean of Students/Director of Residence
Supervision of: Resident Assistants (RAs)

Position summary

The Resident Director (RD) position is for an upperclassmen male residence hall. It is a professional live-in position with other responsibilities in Student Development/Student Life. The Resident Director will have a 2-bedroom apartment within the residence hall. The RD is responsible for facilitating the physical, spiritual, intellectual, and social development of residents and Resident Assistants and supporting the mission of Ouachita Baptist University, the Office of Student Development, and the Residence Life department.


  • Supervise and facilitate the responsibilities of 3-5 RAs through weekly individual meetings.
  • Meet weekly with Resident Director staff for planning, information sharing, and support.
  • Meet regularly with the Dean of Students for further training, advising, and support.
  • Cultivate a Residence Hall environment that fosters community through caring relationships, service to others, and mutual encouragement and accountability, and help them grow holistically.
  • Hold RAs accountable for their job description through ongoing feedback and performance reviews.
  • Advise students and staff with concerns, making appropriate referrals to campus resources.
  • Communicate and enforce University policies and guidelines, reporting incidents as necessary.
  • Plan and implement personal and professional goals at the beginning of each year.
  • Participate in RD and RA training at the beginning of each semester.
  • Participate in the RA selection process.
  • Serve on committees as assigned.
  • Supervise move-in and move-out, paperwork, collection of keys, and other administrative duties as assigned.
  • Assist in equipment/audio/event setup for Office of Student life.
  • In conjunction with RA staff, conduct safety inspections as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with Facilities Management, Office of Safety and Emergency Management, and campus vendors regarding hall needs, especially safety concerns.
  • Abide by Residence Life dates and weekends off schedule as coordinated by the Dean of Students.
  • Document and facilitate minor conduct infractions that occur in the residence hall
  • Hold weekly office hours during the week with housing preparations within the office of Student Development/Student Life. Assist with equipment setup for Student Life campus events.


  • Evidence of Christian character and commitment
  • Communication, leadership, and management skills
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree
